History of the Space

Built in 1880

The R.S Piper building served as a pillar for the greater West Fort William area for decades.  You could pay utility bills, cash cheques, drop off and pick up parcels, and of course, do most of your shopping.  The general store supplied everything from furniture, kitchen ware, clothing, and hardware, to firearms and ammunition.

Where can I park?

There is free parking available on Brown, Frederica,, and Gore. We kindly ask you do not park in the Beer Store parking lot. You may use the Swartz parking lot after 5 pm.

How do I book?

You can contact us either by email, phone, or use the “Request a Booking” section below and someone will be in contact with you within 24 hours. The date of your event is secured with a deposit worth the determined room rental fee.

What is your capacity?

The hall can hold up to 100 guests seated events, 130 for cocktail style, and up to 180 for a ceremony or row seating.

What days can I book an event?

We are open for bookings every day of the week throughout the year except for statutory holidays.

Is this venue licensed?

Yes The Landing is fully licensed and has a full bar list available on our catering guide.

Do you offer in-house catering?

We sure do. We have a robust catering guide with menu options customized to any kind of event or gathering. We offer light hor dourves, lunches, cocktail snacks, buffet, family style sit down dinners, a late night menu, and more.
